Firstly I just want to thank everyone for giving such great responses and feedback. So far, I’m loving everything Deviant Art is all about and I’ve barely scratched the surface. I have more things to add and more exploring to do.

A little about me… Firstly, I hate writing “about me’s”. I imagine most artists dread it, as it’s never really a fair portrayal of who you are or what your work’s about. I’m probably one of the least qualified persons to talk about my work, I’m either going to be too biased towards what I do; or I’m going to be too dismissive and apologize for all the flaws. I know everyone who’s a passionate, self-doubting creator knows where I’m coming from.

However, I try to have a very honest relationship with my art. I try real hard to talk about it, share whatever it is I do, and actually give away all my ‘secrets’. Which there really aren’t any, but when I begun taking art seriously, I always looked at the art that I loved as being magical and impossible to replicate. And I could never find out enough about the processes used by those creators and it was very frustrating. In general I think most artists are removed from their viewers, and this is something I don’t want to be.

So I shall try from time to go into details about some things I’ve learned (and I’m no expert but what the heck,) but for now, here’s the basics; I’m a working artist in Las Vegas – I show my work in my own little studio space upstairs at the Arts Factory at Charleston and Main. I’ve participated in many shows around town, and have been out of town in group shows and solos, but I’m always looking for more. I describe my work as ‘statement art’, as other labels are very hard to stay in. I pretty much work exclusively in oils, but enjoy making inks and pencils and have comic book and fantasy art roots.
